UPDATE & RESPONSE TO INACCURATE AND MISLEADING REPORTS

Unfortunately, there have been some media outlets reporting inaccurate scenarios about what happened to Ilya Salkind. After being found Ilya is now fully conscious. Previously Ilya was kept sedated due to his injuries. Ilya was injured while walking on the lightly traveled small and uneven cobble stone street that runs from his family home to the adjacent town.

Ilya was staying at his family home which is located in a very lightly populated rural area about an hour south of Mexico City. Ilya went for a walk from his family home headed to a local restaurant just a short ways away.

Ilya never made it to the restaurant. He was found unconscious and taken to the hospital. Unfortunately Ilya didn't have his cell phone with him and communication lapsed. Ilya has abrasions on his hands and bruising to his forehead. The fully conscious Ilya is in stable condition.
